openSUSE Leap42.2 桌面調校小記 - GNOME_extension

OS: openSUSE Leap 42.2

這週把目前使用的機器都升級( 重安裝? ) 到 openSUSE Leap 42.2 了

早上想到就把 GNOME extension 稍微看了一下, 裝了自己想要的功能, 在這邊紀錄一下.

GNOME Extension 的相關設定在

所有設定值 -- > 調校工具

點選擴充功能

這邊可以看到擴充功能相關功能

點選取得更多擴充功能就會被帶到 https://extensions.gnome.org/

這邊發現一個有趣的現象

如果是使用 GNOME Chrome 瀏覽器, GNOME Extension 沒有辦法正常偵測 GNOME 版本, 所以安裝會有問題, 但是 firefox 沒有這個問題. ( 原因是 firefox 會詢問是否允許權限, 但是Chrome 不會詢問 )

預設是按照受歡迎程度來排序, 但是我是看 Sort by Downloads 來看看有沒有可愛的功能來進行安裝

以下是自己喜歡的功能來進行紀錄

安裝方式就是在網頁上把 OFF按鈕切換成 ON, 就會被詢問是否要下載安裝 :)

TopIcons

預設 GNOME 是把 icons 收在畫面左下角

點選後展開, 如下圖所示

開啟這個功能之後, icon 就會出現在右上方

NetSpeed

這個真的是我很愛的功能, 即時顯示目前上傳與下載的網路速度 :)

Show IP

https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/941/show-ip/

這個功能也是很 lovely

可以顯示指定網卡的 IP, 以及對外的公共 IP, 有時候真的很方便

調整完工作列就變成

Chicago Linux Users Group 活動小記

今天是第一次參加 Chicago Linux Users Group 活動

一開始場地讓我印象非常深刻，是要按鈴然後主辦人會下來開 ^^

而且不是一般台灣常見的教室或是會議室，而是類似電子公司或用共同創作空間

但是我還是很勇敢的按下電鈴了

聚會的方式是有講師會分享

然後主辦單位會準備 Pizza , 有來的夥伴還會帶一手啤酒跟大家 share …..

這邊有網路嗎? WIFI 密碼是啥?

抬頭看看天花版, WIFI 就可以取得, 這個想法真的很可愛

GNOME.Asia Summit 2014

The seventh GNOME.Asia Summit host come back to Beijing. after Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangalore, Taipei, Ho-Chi-Minh City and Beijing.
I want thank all people coming GNOME.Asia Summit 2014.

GNOME.Asia committee was created at 2008 after the first GNOME.Asia summit, and aimed to spread GNOME and Free Software in Asia. We had hold this summit in Beijing, Ho Chi Minh, Taipei, Banglore, HongKong and Seol in six years. Now GNOME.Asia Summit already becomed one of famous activity of GNOME Foundation, like GUADEC (GNOME Users And Developers European Conference) and Boston Summit. FUDCon is the Fedora Users and Developers Conference, a major free software event held in various regions around the world, usually annually per region. FUDCon APAC will be held in Beijing, China on May 23--25, 2014. It will be the first premier event in Fedora.next phase, spreading innovative ideas and helping make Fedora better than ever. FUDCon is a combination of sessions, talks, workshops, and hackfests in which contributors work on specific initiatives. 主要說明如何申請 @gnome.org 的電子郵件

要申請 @gnome.org 的電子郵件

申請方式:

寄信給 accounts@gnome.org

基本條件:

1. 必須是 foundation member

2. 如果沒有申請 git 或是 shell 帳號就要申請

git 或是 shell 說明可以看這邊

申請之前要先建立 SSH Key

建立方法可以看

可以使用 ssh-keygen 指令建立

> ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 2048

接下來使用 GNOME mango 申請

User Name: 填入要申請的帳號

Full Name: 自己的名字 (可以識別自己是 Foundation Member)

E-mail: 永久的 e-mail

Comments: 為何要申請?

SSH Keys: 選擇檔案, 將 rsa.pub 上傳上去

勾選 'gnome.org' email alias. (Only for Foundation Members)

點選 Request Account

GUADEC 2013 小記 - 遇見 Andrea Veri

今年很開心可以參加 GUADEC 2013, open source 以及 freeware 的小圈圈是很小很美妙的(笑).

在還沒有參加GUADEC 之前, 我並不認識 Andrea Veri, 倒是常常在 mail list 上面看到他. 第一次看到他名字的時候是因為 nagios 的 jabber (google talk)整合
(http://www.dragonsreach.it/2012/02/18/nagios-xmpp-notifications-for-gtalk/), 他有一篇 blog 有提到這方面的實作. 我們跟自由軟體鑄造廠 OSSF 有很多工作坊的合作, 其中有部分是結合 openSUSE 以及 nagios 的實作.

實做筆記可以參考這篇 blog 其實也有寫了英文版的實作筆記

但是真的非常開心遇到Andrea Veri本人, 還讓他幫我很多的問題

能夠參加GUADEC 真是太好了
